Currently in progress, MWY provided design engineering services for the city of Batesville, Arkansas to upgrade that city’s current system.
The project consists of gravity sewer, a gravity sewer tunnel and a screw-pump lift station to service the city’s wastewater treatment facility.
Also involved is the construction of approximately 3,300 linear feet of 30-inch through 60-inch gravity sewers including a road crossing and a stream crossing. Additionally, the screw pump lift station features 90-inch diameter screws capable of conveying up to 45 MGD.
The project eliminates a less efficient lift station, and makes obsolete a force main which is located on the bank of the White River.
The depth of the sewer ranges from 20 feet to 85 feet through portions of the tunnel. The majority of the installation is in rock, some of which exhibits compressive strength approaching 25,000 psi.
