BELLVIEW ROAD AND DRAINAGE IMPROVEMENTS

WIDENING, SIGNALIZATION AND DRAINAGE ADDRESSED
Client City of Rogers, Arkansas
Location Rogers, Arkansas
Schedule Construction scheduled to begin in 2015

Project Detail

As part of the City of Rogers 2011 Bond program, McGoodwin, Williams & Yates was selected to design the widening of Bellview Road from a two lane county road to a four lane, 52’ back-to-back of curb, Minor Arterial Street.

This project includes widening 6,800 linear feet of Bellview Road from Pleasant Grove Road south to the city limits and widening 1,300 linear feet of Garrett Road from Bellview Road to 37th Street.

The design includes mitigation of frequent road flooding caused by numerous point discharges along Bellview Road. These point discharges come from six different detention ponds constructed in recent high development years. Flood mitigation features include raising the road profile in existing low areas and capturing and conveying point discharges to larger capacity natural or designed streams. The construction will include over 7,000 linear feet of reinforced concrete pipe and 2,000 linear feet of box culvert including 560 linear feet of 10 foot by 5 foot box culvert.

The project also includes a signalized intersection.
